Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved an increase in the Dearness Allowance (DA), presenting a significant gift to state employees and pensioners. In line with the Central Government’s policy, and effective from January 1, 2026, this decision raises the Dearness Allowance rate from 58 percent to 60 percent per month.
Additionally, the Chief Minister has granted financial approval amounting to approximately ₹50 crore for various development schemes across the state.
Key details regarding the approved funds:
• Residential Construction (Police and Fire Stations): ₹3.13 crore has been sanctioned for residential construction at Kotwali Pancheshwar in Champawat; ₹3.47 crore for the Reethasahib Police Station; and ₹36.64 crore for the construction of 76 residential units of various categories at the Haldwani Fire Station in Nainital.
• Parking Construction: A sum of ₹5.91 crore has been sanctioned for a parking facility at Maulekhal Market in Almora, and ₹61.57 lakh for the construction of vehicle parking at Gwaldam Market within the Tharali Assembly constituency in Chamoli.
These development works are expected to improve the infrastructure of the police administration and provide relief from parking congestion in major markets
