A significant review meeting was held in the Secretariat Auditorium, presided over by Principal Secretary R.K. Sudhanshu, with the participation of industry representatives and officials. During this meeting, detailed discussions were held regarding the provision of minimum wages, overtime pay, bonuses, and other statutory benefits to workers in a time-bound and transparent manner, strictly in accordance with prescribed standards.
The Principal Secretary directed the Commissioner of Industries, the Labour Commissioner, and industrial organizations to ensure full compliance with all labour laws across all establishments. Furthermore, to maintain industrial harmony, he advised management to establish regular dialogue with workers and to operate by taking them into confidence.
Key Highlights of the Meeting:
• Intensive Screening: Officials were directed to conduct a comprehensive screening once again to ensure that all workers are receiving wages and benefits in accordance with established standards.
• Action Against Instigators: Strict statutory action will be initiated against any external individual who attempts to disrupt the industrial environment or spread misinformation.
• Industry Representatives’ Stance: The industrial organizations provided assurances that they are indeed providing minimum wages and benefits to workers in full compliance with the prescribed standards.
The Principal Secretary reiterated that the State Government remains fully committed to and sensitive regarding the protection of workers’ interests. Several representatives attended the meeting, including Secretary Sridhar Babu Adanki, Commissioner of Industries Saurabh Gaharwar, and Labour Commissioner P.C. Dumka.
