The State Minister for Cooperatives, Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, held a departmental review meeting at his official residence. During the meeting, he issued directives stating that all construction works within the state related to the cooperative sector—up to a cost of ₹10 crore—will henceforth be executed through the ‘Uttarakhand Housing and Construction Cooperative Federation.’ Furthermore, the operation of the state’s ambitious ‘Madho Singh Bhandari Collective Cooperative Farming Scheme’ will now be entrusted to a top-tier cooperative institution or federation, with the aim of strengthening the rural economy and ensuring maximum benefit for the common people.
Key Highlights of the Meeting’s Progress Report:
• Progress of the Housing Federation: The Federation’s Managing Director, Ira Upreti, reported that the Housing Federation has currently been allocated 102 projects totaling ₹41.60 crore in value; of these, 51 projects have been completed, while the remainder are currently in progress.
• Project Report: Anand Shukla, Director of the State Integrated Cooperative Development Project, presented a progress report on various ongoing activities.
Several senior officials, including the Secretary of Cooperatives, Dr. Iqbal Ahmed, and the Registrar, Dr. Meharban Bisht, were present at the meeting
