On Thursday, Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami distributed appointment letters to 307 newly appointed candidates during a grand ceremony held at the Chief Minister’s Camp Office. These appointments include 243 Medical Officers, 42 Pharmacists, and 22 Laboratory Assistants and Mushroom Supervisors within the Horticulture Department.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister congratulated the newly appointed personnel, stating that these appointment letters are not merely documents of employment, but rather a “pledge” to serve the 1.25 crore people of the state. He specifically appealed to the healthcare workers to render their services in the hilly and remote regions with sensitivity and dedication.
Key Highlights:
โข Transparency in Employment: The Chief Minister highlighted that over the past four and a half years, more than 32,000 youths have been provided with government jobs through a transparent process. The country’s strictest ‘Anti-Cheating Law’ is currently in force in the state.
โข Expansion of Health Services: To date, 6.2 million Ayushman cards have been issued in the state, and 1.2 million patients have received cashless medical treatment. Five medical colleges are currently operational, and work on a modern cancer institute (in Haldwani) is in progress.
โข Agriculture and Horticulture: Emphasis is being placed on increasing farmers’ incomes through innovative initiatives such as the cultivation of Kiwi, Dragon Fruit, and Mushrooms.
Cabinet Ministers Ganesh Joshi and Subodh Uniyal also shared their views during the program, discussing topics such as the availability of doctors in remote areas and the potential for mushroom production. Several MLAs and senior officials were also present on the occasion.
