The police have registered an FIR against 11 accused individuals—under charges including attempted murder—in connection with a life-threatening attack on the son of Talib, the National Secretary of the Bharatiya Kisan Union (Tomar faction). The police are in possession of video footage from the crime scene. Police raids are currently underway at suspected hideouts in an effort to apprehend the attackers. The incident is being viewed as a result of a personal feud.
Rashib, a resident of Rampur village (under the jurisdiction of the Ganganahar Kotwali), stated that he owns an electrical shop in the village. On Monday night, he was sitting at his shop when Qadeer—a resident of Latherdeva (also under Ganganahar Kotwali)—arrived on motorcycles with a group of over 10 associates, stopped outside the shop, and began verbally abusing them. In the interim, a child approached and warned them that an attack was imminent, prompting them to be on high alert. Before they could fully comprehend the situation, members of Qadeer’s faction opened fire using country-made pistols.
They fled in various directions to save their lives; although they managed to escape being shot, the attackers extensively vandalized their shop. The entire incident was captured on CCTV cameras. Inspector Mani Bhushan Srivastava confirmed that a case has been registered against 11 attackers—including Master and Intakhab (residents of Madhopur, Ganganahar Kotwali); Akhlaq, Azam, and Alam (residents of Nagla Kubra, Manglaur Kotwali); and Qadeer (resident of Latherdeva, Ganganahar Kotwali, Roorkee)—under charges of attempted murder and other relevant sections of the law. The attackers have been identified, and police raids at suspected locations are continuing in an effort to effect their arrests.
