A special campaign will be launched by the Food Safety and Drug Administration Department to prevent food adulteration during the Christmas and New Year festivities. During this campaign, food samples will be collected from hotels, restaurants, and sweet shops.
Following instructions from Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Health Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, the FDA has decided to conduct a special campaign across the state. Additional Commissioner of FDA, Tajbar Singh Jaggi, said that keeping the festive season in mind, special monitoring will be conducted to check for adulteration in sweets, savory snacks, bakery products, confectionery, dairy products, and other food items, and samples will be sent for testing.
Special teams have been formed at the district level under the leadership of food safety officers, who will inspect everything from manufacturing units to wholesale and retail vendors. Citizens can also register complaints about adulteration on the departmental portal and through the toll-free number.
