Chief Minister Dhami distributed appointment letters to 142 Assistant Professors in government medical colleges selected through the Medical Services Selection Board. Congratulating the newly appointed Assistant Professors, he said that this opportunity will prove to be an important step towards strengthening the medical field.
The Chief Minister urged everyone to provide quality education and training to their students, while also developing sensitivity, empathy, and a sense of service within them. This will enable them to become skilled and competent doctors and fulfill their duties towards society and humanity with utmost sincerity.
Ayushman Cards Distributed
CM Dhami said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state government is continuously working to expand and strengthen health services in the state. Quality medical facilities are being made available to every citizen of the state at affordable rates. Nearly 6.1 million Ayushman cards have been distributed so far under the Ayushman Scheme, through which cashless treatment worth over โน3,300 crore has been provided to over 1.7 million patients in the state.
The Chief Minister stated that the state government is establishing a medical college in each district, providing modern healthcare facilities to people in remote areas within their own districts. Five of these medical colleges are already operational, while construction work on two more is underway. Super-specialty departments have also been established in Dehradun, Haldwani, and Srinagar Medical Colleges.
The process of appointing 356 assistant professors is also underway.
The Chief Minister stated that construction of the state’s first modern cancer institute in Haldwani is also underway. Furthermore, heli-ambulances are proving to be life-saving for people in remote areas during emergencies. Patients in the state are also being provided free pathological tests. Telemedicine services are also providing consultations by specialist doctors in remote villages.
The Chief Minister stated that staff shortages are being addressed in all government hospitals and medical colleges. Appointment letters are being issued to 142 assistant professors, and the process for the appointment of 356 assistant professors is underway. Appointments have also been made to 1,248 nursing officers and 170 technicians, and the selection process for approximately 600 nursing officers is underway.
Nearly 27,000 youth from the state have succeeded in securing government jobs.
The Chief Minister stated that previously, recruitment in the state was rife with widespread favoritism, rigging, and corruption. He added that the state has implemented the country’s most stringent anti-cheating law. Today, all selection processes are based on merit, ensuring deserving candidates receive the full benefit of their skills and hard work. Nearly 27,000 youth from the state have succeeded in securing government jobs. The Chief Minister stated that wherever there are vacancies, they will be filled through the Commission as soon as possible.
Cabinet Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat stated that today, 62 percent of medical colleges have permanent faculty. This number is expected to increase in the future. He said that 70 percent of the work of Pithoragarh and Rudrapur Medical Colleges has been completed. Both the medical colleges will start functioning from the next session. 625 students are doing MBBS and 256 students are doing PG in the government medical colleges of the state. There are about 100 colleges in the state, out of which 14 thousand students are studying nursing every year. He said that 100 percent of the 3000 nursing staff recently appointed are from Uttarakhand state. He said that 32 lakh people have been given free checkup in the state, 350 people have been referred to higher centers by air ambulance
