A total of 11 flights from various airlines arrived at Doon Airport on Sunday. Of the 13 IndiGo flights, only six arrived at the airport, while seven were cancelled.
A total of 2,777 passengers traveled on all flights at Doon Airport on Sunday. Of the 11 flights that arrived at the airport, six were IndiGo flights, four were Air India flights, and one was Air India Express flights, carrying a total of 1,338 passengers from various cities. A total of 1,439 passengers departed from these 11 flights.
Considering train tickets to return home
Gajendra Rawat, a resident of Athoorwala, said his son is studying at a college in Hyderabad. Due to the holidays, he had already booked a return ticket from Hyderabad on IndiGo for December 16th, but the disruption to IndiGo flights has forced him to consider purchasing train tickets for his son. Along with his son, six other students have also booked return tickets on the same flight.
Hundreds of tourists arrive to celebrate the New Year.
In the last week of December, hundreds of tourists arrive in the state by flight to Mussoorie, Tehri, and other cities to celebrate the New Year. These include many famous athletes, film stars, and businessmen. However, the disruption in flights may impact the number of tourists arriving.
Indigo flights are continuously being affected. Flight status is also unclear online, causing confusion among passengers and airport taxi drivers. The union used to operate 150 to 200 taxis daily, but due to the disruption in flights, this number has dropped to 50, impacting the livelihoods of taxi drivers.
