Jaipur: The spate of bomb threat emails in the capital, Jaipur, continues unabated. A bomb threat has now emerged at the Rajasthan High Court. Upon receiving the information, police arrived at the scene and conducted a thorough search using a dog squad and a bomb disposal squad. However, nothing suspicious was found. Police are investigating the matter as per established procedures.
Additional Police Commissioner (Law and Order) Rajiv Pachar stated that on Friday, an email received on the email ID of the High Court Registrar General threatening to bomb the High Court premises. Bomb squad and dog squad search: Upon receiving the information, police arrived at the scene. The bomb squad and dog squad were called in. The High Court premises were evacuated and a thorough search was conducted. Ambulances and fire engines were also put on alert. Civil Defense and SDRF teams were also deployed at the scene.
No suspicious object found during investigation: The Additional Police Commissioner stated that despite a thorough search, no suspicious object was found in the entire complex. A standard operating procedure (SOP) has been established for investigating bomb threats. The case is being investigated accordingly. Information is also being gathered about the IP address of the email address from which the threatening email originated. Previous bomb threats: Several institutions, schools, colleges, and court premises in Jaipur have received bomb threats in the recent past. Several court premises have been threatened with bombings. Several private hospitals and schools have also received bomb threat emails. Jaipur’s Sawai Mansingh Stadium has also received bomb threat emails for several consecutive days. However, no suspicious object was found during the search in any of these cases.
The city was shaken 17 years ago: Seventeen years ago, on May 13, 2008, a series of bomb blasts rocked Jaipur, killing dozens and injuring many more. This incident is fresh in the minds of city residents after each bomb threat.
