While presiding over the monthly crime review meeting at the police office, the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Dehradun, warned of strict departmental action against officers found negligent. He made it clear that any laxity regarding crime control and law and order would not be tolerated.
In view of the upcoming elections, the SSP issued directives to initiate preventive measures—such as invoking the Goonda and Gangster Acts, externment (district banishment), and the confiscation of illegal assets—against criminal elements. Instructions were also given to ensure action under the PIT-NDPS Act against criminals involved in land fraud and drug trafficking.
Additionally, orders were issued to ensure the prompt redressal of grievances concerning women, children, and the elderly; the speedy disposal of pending investigations; and the formation of teams to apprehend wanted criminals and those carrying rewards on their heads. To curb road accidents, directives were issued to conduct intensive checking drives against rash driving, drunk driving, and overspeeding.
