This year, filling seats in Ayurveda courses offered by the Indian Medical Council, Uttarakhand, is challenging. So far, six students have applied for admission to various Ayurveda courses, while paramedical colleges offer over 3,000 seats. Counseling for applicants will be conducted in the first week of November.
The Indian Medical Council has relaxed the age limit for admission to Ayurveda Pharmacist, Nursing, Panchakarma Assistant, Technician, Yoga and Naturopathy Assistant courses for the 2025-26 academic year. Those over 42 years of age can now enroll in these courses.
There are 26 Ayurveda paramedical colleges affiliated with the Council in the state. The total number of seats in these colleges is approximately 3,100. Last year, more than half of the seats remained vacant. This time, the Council faces the challenge of filling these seats.
Council Registrar Narvada Gusain says that the admission deadline for Ayurveda courses has been extended to October 30. This time, the age limit has been raised from 25 to 42 years. This could increase the number of students in Ayurveda courses. College allocations will be made through counseling in November.
