Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami celebrated Diwali with the people of Majada village, which was devastated by the disaster. The Chief Minister arrived in Majada on Monday. The people of Majada had decided not to celebrate Diwali this year.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami arrived in Majada village, located in Sahastradhara, Dehradun, on Monday. He met with the disaster-affected people of Kali Gad, Majada village, and the Sahastradhara area, listened to their problems, and extended Diwali greetings. The Chief Minister also conducted an on-site inspection of the ongoing reconstruction work in the affected area.
The Chief Minister visited the homes of the affected people and spoke with women, children, and villagers. He directed officials to conduct river training and expedite the construction of a protective wall to protect the village, as per the villagers’ demands.
The disaster struck on September 15th.
On September 15th, a disaster wreaked havoc in Majada-Karligad village in Dehradun. Everything in both villages has been devastated. In Majada, a laborer and village resident Ankit were killed. Several homes have been destroyed, and several buildings, including a resort, have been damaged.
A month has passed since the disaster, but the people of Majada have still not forgotten the tragedy, nor has life returned to normal. While the entire country is immersed in the celebration of Diwali, the people of Majada are still in despair
