A CBI investigation will be conducted into the alleged wrongful appointments and financial irregularities in Pauri’s non-government schools. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed the Home Secretary in this regard. The allegation is that appointments were made on the basis of fake caste certificates.
Rajesh Singh, a resident of Payasu village in Pauri Garhwal district, had requested Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to order a CBI investigation into corruption in the district’s non-government-aided schools. He alleged corruption worth crores of rupees. The former school manager allegedly forced departmental officials and employees to work against the rules. The complaint letter also raises questions about the role of a Deputy Secretary of the government.
The letter states that the case was previously investigated by the then Director of Education, Seema Jaunsari, Mahavir Singh Bisht, and senior Education Department official Virendra Singh Rawat. The allegations against the former manager of Inter College Jakheti were confirmed, but government officials suppressed the investigation.
It was said in the complaint letter that the wrong appointment and financial irregularities on the post of clerk in the non-government inter college Jakheti and inter college Dangidhar of Pauri, appointment of a teacher on the basis of fake certificate in Higher Secondary School Kotagarh and wrong appointment in Inter College Garhkot Mandlu should be investigated by CBI
