New Delhi: Passengers who have booked confirmed train tickets in advance to visit various places, including Jhansi division, will have to reconsider their plans. As more than 400 trains of various mail, express and passenger trains will either be cancelled or diverted. During this time, the railway will remove the washable apron and lay new ballast-free tracks on the platforms.
“North Central Railway Chief Public Relations Officer Shashikant Tripathi said, “”The railways will redevelop ballast-free tracks at stations for safe train operations.”
Tripathi added, “In traditional tracks, water accumulates under the tracks, weakening their base after a long time. However, water does not seep under the tracks because they are made ballastless so that water coming in during cleaning or from another source escapes through a drain made near the tracks.
After ballastless work from November 25 to January 8, trains will be cancelled, partially cancelled, re-routed and deregulated.
“Expressing his views on the cancellation of the train, Madhusudan Sharma, a passenger in Delhi, said, “”It is a good thing that some modern development works are being done for train passengers, but on the other hand I am very angry that the railways will cancel or divert such a number of trips from one main division.”””
“The authorities should make a reasonable plan to provide relief to passengers so that they do not face any inconvenience, especially lower-middle or poorer-class passengers who cannot afford air travel,” he said.
“Saying the same thing, another passenger, Lochan Singh told ETV India, “”If it is true that the railways are developing ballastless tracks for safe rail traffic, then it is a good move for the railways as well as for passengers like us.” I would like to suggest that officials should choose a month for work when there is very little passenger movement.”
