In accordance with the directives of the Election Commission of India, the ‘Special Intensive Voter Revision Campaign-2026’ is proceeding in full swing in Dehradun. In this regard, District Magistrate Dr. Ashish Chauhan held a crucial meeting with representatives of various political parties at the Rishiparna Auditorium.
The District Magistrate stated that the primary objective of the campaign is to include the name of every eligible citizen in the electoral roll. According to current data, enumeration forms have been distributed to approximately 98.48 percent of the district’s 13.76 lakh voters, with the digitization process completed for 79.76 percent of them. Booth Level Officers (BLOs) are conducting door-to-door visits to compile the remaining forms in a time-bound manner.
The District Magistrate urged political parties to extend active cooperation in this process through their Booth Level Agents (BLAs). It was also clarified that a separate list of voters who were unable to fill out the forms for any reason would be prepared and made public. This list will be available at Panchayat buildings, local body offices, and the Election Department’s website. Key office-bearers from various parties, including Chief Development Officer Abhinav Shah, attended the meeting. The administration reiterated its commitment to ensuring that this campaign remains completely transparent and impartial in order to strengthen democracy.
