Due to bad weather on Monday, helicopters could not fly to Kedarnath Dham. During this time, about 600 tickets were cancelled. On Monday, there was dense fog from Kedarghati to Kedarnath since morning. Even after the day broke, there was no improvement in the weather in the area, due to which helicopters could not fly to Kedarnath from the helipad of Kedarghati.
During this time, there was a crowd of passengers at the helipads of all the six helicopter companies, Guptkashi, Phata and Sersi, but the passengers were disappointed due to not being able to fly. During this time, about 600 tickets were cancelled.
Helicopter service nodal officer Rahul Chaubey said that the second phase of the Kedarnath Yatra was to start. But due to the weather, not even a single helicopter shuttle could be operated. He said that in the second phase, Trans Bharat, Himalayan, Thumby, Global Vectra, Pawan Hans and Aero Heli Company are operating helicopter services.
