While returning by road from a visit to Delhi, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami shared his experience of the Delhi–Dehradun Economic Corridor. The Chief Minister noted that he completed the journey from Delhi to Dehradun in a mere two and a half hours—a significantly shorter duration compared to the past.
During this occasion, Chief Minister Dhami expressed his gratitude to the Central Government, and specifically to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that this project stands as an outstanding example of modern infrastructure and connectivity. He remarked that this achievement is a direct result of the pace at which road and transport facilities are being developed across the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi. Consequently, hilly states like Uttarakhand are now also reaping the direct benefits of this progress.
He further stated that the Delhi–Dehradun Economic Corridor is not only reducing travel time but is also generating new opportunities for tourism, investment, and local employment. This initiative will make access to the state’s major religious and tourist destinations—including the Char Dham pilgrimage circuit—even more convenient.
Describing this as the “new momentum of a New India,” the Chief Minister asserted that projects of this nature are proving to be milestones in the holistic development of Uttarakhand.
