The government has taken a major decision to further strengthen road connectivity in the Srinagar Assembly constituency. Following a review meeting with officials, Cabinet Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat decided to construct 23 new motorable roads across the Khirsu, Pabo, and Thalisain development blocks under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY).
The construction of these roads will provide better connectivity to the region’s remote villages. The Minister issued strict instructions to expedite the construction of all 23 proposed routes—including Gavana-Manglakoti, Bayali-Mathigaon, and Patoli-Naugaon-Pajyana—and to complete the necessary formalities in a time-bound manner. He stated that this road network would accelerate regional development while also boosting tourism and the local economy.
During the meeting, instructions were issued to prioritize the reconstruction of roads damaged by disasters and to complete these works on a war footing. Officials reported that 25 motorable roads across the Pabo, Khirsu, and Thalisain blocks have been handed over to the Public Works Department. Dr. Rawat emphasized that the state government’s goal is to ensure safe road access to every village, thereby preventing any inconvenience to the public regarding transportation
