GST Day-2026′ was celebrated with great enthusiasm at the IRDT Auditorium by the Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST) Commissionerate, Dehradun, to mark the completion of nine years of the GST regime. The event’s central theme, ‘Simplified Tax System, Empowered India,’ highlighted the progress made towards creating a tax system that is both simple and transparent.
The Chief Guest, Finance Secretary Shri Dilip Jawalkar, described GST as a historic reform that realized the concept of ‘One Nation, One Tax, One Market.’ Reiterating Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s vision of ‘Simplification and Resolution,’ he emphasized the need to further strengthen mutual trust between taxpayers and the administration.
CGST Commissioner Dr. Ashok Kumar Pandey commended the excellent coordination between the Centre and the State in revenue enhancement, as well as the voluntary compliance demonstrated by taxpayers. On this occasion, M/s UltraTech Cement Limited (Roorkee), M/s Nestle India Limited (Rudrapur), and M/s Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (Haridwar) were honored for their outstanding contributions to nation-building. The event included an overview of the functions of the GST Appellate Authority, and certificates of appreciation were awarded to outstanding departmental officers.
