As part of a strict drive against illegal construction, the Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) carried out sealing operations in two prominent areas of Mussoorie on Wednesday. By sealing structures that violated regulations, the Authority’s team sent a clear message that development work undertaken without permission or in deviation from approved plans would not be tolerated.
The MDDA’s enforcement team sealed a construction project in the Suvakholi area being carried out by Vinod Bisht in violation of the approved plan. Subsequently, the team inspected a building under construction by Susama Jaiswal on the King-Craig Picture Palace Road; upon discovering irregularities, this structure was also sealed with immediate effect. Police personnel were deployed during the operation to maintain law and order.
MDDA Vice-Chairman Banshidhar Tiwari stated that planned development is the Authority’s top priority. He emphasized that no one is above the law and that strict actions—such as sealing and demolition—against illegal constructions will continue in the future. Secretary Mohan Singh Barnia appealed to property owners to obtain mandatory approvals before commencing construction and to ensure that work strictly adheres to the approved plans. This campaign by the Authority reflects its commitment to the safe and planned development of Mussoorie
