Rudraprayag:-A major accident took place near Jungle Chatti on the Gaurikund-Kedarnath footpath. Due to the sudden fall of heavy debris from the hill, five workers fell into a deep ravine. Two died on the spot in the accident. Both the deceased were residents of Jammu who worked in dandy-kandi operations. Three are seriously injured.
The district disaster management officer confirmed the incident and said that the incident occurred due to a landslide on the hill. The rescue operation was carried out by the local administration and the SDRF team. The injured were evacuated from the ditch and shifted to safe places for first aid.

Pre-monsoon rains have been continuing in most parts of Uttarakhand for the past few days. The Meteorological Department had already predicted the possibility of strong thunderstorms and light to moderate rains in several districts of the state on June 19. At the same time, an alert was also issued for heavy rains in the hilly areas.
According to the Meteorological Centre, a yellow alert has been issued for heavy rains in some areas of Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts. Apart from this, there is a possibility of rain with loud thunderstorms and winds in other hill districts. According to the department, the weather will remain like this in the state till June 23, which has advised travelers and locals to be cautious.
