Haldwani:-The general manager (GM) of a hotel on Nainital Road has been accused of rape by a Delhi girl working as an event management. The accused committed the crime in another hotel in Haldwani. After the rape was confirmed, a rape case was also registered against the GM in Haldwani Kotwali. Police are searching for the accused.
The girl works in event management. In the complaint filed with the Kotwali police, the girl said that she knew the GM of a hotel, Rohit Belwal, in advance. Rohit is a resident of Savalde village in Ramnagar. Actually, he used to work in a resort in Ramnagar earlier. She had come there to do the event work. After this, Rohit got him more work. Since then, the identity has increased. Rohit had called her to Haldwani to get the event done in a hotel. She came here with her friend, a resident of Hapur. Rohit accommodated the two at a hotel on Nainital Road on Tuesday night. At night, he forcibly entered her room. He sat there and drank alcohol and raped her. The accused fled when the girl and her friend raised an uproar.
The girl informed the police. Anil Kumar, in-charge of the Bhotia stop police post, said that when he reached the spot on receiving information from the phone in the night itself, the girl was crying in the hotel room. He was taken to the hospital in the evening. Rape was also confirmed during the medical examination there. Kotwali in-charge inspector Rajesh Kumar said that a case has been registered against GM Rohit Belwal under the rape section. A team has been formed to search for him
