On the occasion of Independence Day, Uttarakhand Director General of Police (DGP) Shri Deepam Seth hoisted the flag at the Police Headquarters and administered the pledge of national unity. During the event, he honored police personnel who had performed outstanding work with DGP Commendation Discs (Gold and Silver) and certificates of appreciation.
Paying tribute to freedom fighters and martyrs, the DGP highlighted the Uttarakhand Police’s excellent work in successfully managing the Char Dham Yatra, the Kanwar Mela, and events attended by the Prime Minister and the Home Minister. He cited the force’s inclusion among the country’s top five states for cybercrime management, the receipt of a national award for passport verification, and the acclaim received for the Silkyara Tunnel rescue model as major achievements.
He noted that, as part of personnel welfare initiatives, over 950 personnel had been promoted within the past year. Several senior officers, including ADG (Law and Order) V. Murugesan and ADG (Administration) A.P. Anshuman, were present on the occasion
