A special welfare camp was organized on June 24, 2026, at the Valmiki Temple in Sanjay Colony, Patel Nagar, Dehradun. Conducted by the Social Welfare Department under the guidance of the district administration, the camp’s primary objective was to connect sanitation workers and marginalized sections of society with the government’s public welfare schemes.
At the camp, a Health Department team conducted health check-ups for 95 individuals and distributed free medicines. The Social Welfare Department provided information about various pension and loan schemes to over 300 beneficiaries and facilitated the on-the-spot completion of their application processes. The Department of Women and Child Development distributed ‘Mahalakshmi Kits,’ ‘Kishori Kits’ (for adolescent girls), and ‘Godh Bharai Kits’ (for expectant mothers).
A major highlight of the camp was the distribution of 130 assistive devices to 45 elderly individuals by the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO). The chief guest, Cantt MLA Smt. Savita Kapoor, commended the department’s efforts while handing over the equipment. She remarked that such camps ensure the benefits of government schemes reach the most marginalized segments of society directly. Local public representatives and officials from various departments actively participated in the event
