Patna: The winter session of the Bihar Legislature concluded its fourth day today with a discussion on the motion of thanks to the Governor’s address. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar presented his views on behalf of the ruling party in the Assembly and Legislative Council. During this, the CM also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“There is no atmosphere of fear in Bihar”: The Chief Minister thanked all the newly elected MLAs. He also thanked the people of Bihar for the NDA’s landslide victory. He said that development is taking place in Bihar and there is no atmosphere of fear anywhere. The CM said that there used to be so much Hindu-Muslim conflict, but now there is no conflict. First, graveyards were fenced. Then temples older than 60 years were fenced.
“Now the number of government teachers in Bihar has reached 520,000. Electricity used to be provided at subsidized rates. Now, 125 units of electricity have been made free for domestic consumers.” Solar panels will also be installed in consumers’ homes.” – Nitish Kumar, Chief Minister, Bihar
“Jobs and employment are our priority”: CM Nitish Kumar said that 1 million jobs were promised. However, 1 million jobs and 4 million jobs have already been created. That means 5 million jobs have been created. Now, 10 million jobs will be created in the next five years.
Focus on women: The Chief Minister said that four elections have been held since we introduced reservation for women in Panchayat elections in 2006. Now, women are being given 35 percent reservation in government jobs. There are 14 million Jeevika Didis, and their number is continuously increasing. Women are being given an amount of ₹10,000 for Chief Minister Women’s Employment. So far, 15.6 million women have been given this amount. Women will be given additional assistance of up to ₹2 lakh if they establish good businesses.
Praise for PM Modi: CM Nitish Kumar said that the central government is also providing substantial support. Bihar has received a special economic package for 2024 and 2025. The budget also included a decision to establish a Makhana Board.
The Chief Minister said, “We salute Prime Minister Narendra Modi.” During this, CM Nitish asked everyone to raise their hands. He also asked the opposition, “Why aren’t you raising your hands too? You used to agree, but later, when they started making mistakes, you left. Kumar Sarvjeet said that Samrat Choudhary’s father had named him Samrat, but the media had given him the name Bulldozer Baba. Sarvjeet said that we knew that when you get a massive majority, you won’t let the son of a Dalit speak.”

‘Beds in medical colleges are increasing’: After the Assembly session, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar stated in the Legislative Council that there were only six medical colleges previously. Now there are 12. Patna Medical College is being upgraded to a 5,000-bed facility, while all other medical colleges are adding 2,500 beds. IGIMS is being upgraded to a 3,000-bed facility. Healthcare facilities are expanding.

Work has also been done on the agriculture road map. Bihar has progressed in fish production. We are now self-sufficient, and farmers’ incomes are increasing. “The Central Government Supported Us”: CM Nitish Kumar said that 11.4 million people are receiving social pensions. The Central Government has supported us. Financial assistance is being provided. The elections were not fair – Sandeep Saurabh: In the Assembly, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary said that the Governor made the right point in his address. On this, CPI(ML) MLA Sandeep Saurabh said that NDA leaders should also thank the Election Commissioner, as the election was not fair. 6.5 million women were given ₹10,000 in the middle of the election and it was not stopped.
“They couldn’t find a single case of vote theft”: The CPI(ML) MLA’s statement was initially objected to by BJP’s Riga MLA, Baidyanath Prasad, who said that if the election wasn’t fair, the CPI(ML) MLA should resign. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary then stated that the initiatives initiated before the code of conduct were not affected. The opposition was making allegations of “vote theft, vote theft,” but they couldn’t find a single case.

Narendra Narayan Yadav elected Deputy Speaker: The motion of thanks to the Governor’s address was passed by the Assembly. Meanwhile, Narendra Narayan Yadav was elected to the position of Deputy Speaker of the Assembly. Assembly Speaker Prem Kumar stated that Narendra Narayan Yadav was the only proposal for the position of Deputy Speaker of the Assembly. Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary’s proposal was accepted by Prem Kumar. Samrat Chaudhary presented the proposal, which was seconded by Vijay Kumar Chaudhary. Narendra Narayan Yadav was unanimously elected Deputy Speaker of the Bihar Legislative Assembly.
