Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami addressed a seminar held at the Shivalik College of Engineering in Dehradun on the theme, “The Importance of Higher Education in Building a Developed India by 2047.” He emphasized that higher education serves not merely as a medium for acquiring knowledge, but as the very cornerstone for building a developed, self-reliant, and prosperous India. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the nation is making unprecedented strides in the fields of education, innovation, and research.
Key Highlights:
โข National Education Policy-2020: He described this policy as a historic initiative aimed at restoring the ancient glory of Indian education, fostering the holistic development of the youth and promoting practical skills.
โข Digital Education in Uttarakhand: The state is actively promoting modern disciplinesโsuch as AI, Machine Learning, and Data Scienceโalongside the establishment of smart classrooms and digital libraries. The ‘Center for Hindu Studies’ at Doon University stands as a significant initiative in this direction.
โข Emphasis on Job Creation: The government’s objective is to transform the youth from job seekers into job creators (entrepreneurs). To this end, coordination between industries and educational institutions is being strengthened.
