Acting under the directives of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, significant measures are being undertaken in Nainital district to conserve lakes, boost tourism development, and strengthen traffic management systems. In this context, Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar, Secretary of the Housing and State Estates Department, conducted an on-site inspection of various development projects on Saturday.
Key Highlights of the Projects:
• **Bhimtal Lake Beautification (₹25.67 Crore):** Under this initiative, works such as the redevelopment of parks, construction of a boating dock, a 4,210-meter-long pedestrian walkway, parking improvements, and the installation of solar street lighting will be carried out.
• **Naukuchiatal Development (₹20.97 Crore):** Here, the construction of a boating stand, a floating jetty, a 2,089-meter-long pedestrian walkway, gazebos, and landscaping is proposed.
• **Kamaltal and Bhawali:** An open shopping plaza and a pedestrian bridge will be constructed at Kamaltal. Meanwhile, in Bhawali, 96% of the work on a multi-level parking facility with a capacity for 124 vehicles has been completed.
• **Nainital Parking:** The city’s traffic management system is set to improve with the development of the Sarovar Parking facility (₹42.77 Crore) in Mallital and an automated parking facility (₹30.43 Crore) located near the Nainital Club.
The Secretary has issued strict instructions to officials to complete all construction works within the stipulated timelines and to ensure the highest standards of quality.
