Gadchiroli: The security forces against Naxalism in the country have achieved great success. Top leader of the Naxal movement and Politburo member Venugopal Rao alias Bhupathi alias Sonu has laid down his arms. Bhupathi, once known as a feared Naxal, surrendered to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis along with 60 of his comrades in Gadchiroli.
CM Fadnavis welcomed the Naxals who surrendered to come into the mainstream of society. However, Naxalism ended in Maharashtra. It started from Gadchiroli district. Now there are some Naxals worth counting on the fingers, they must also surrender, otherwise they will face action. After Bhupathi surrenders, the top Naxals of Chhattisgarh and Telangana will surrender in the next few days. Bhupathi, who was the top leader of the Naxal movement, had deep influence in Maharashtra, Telangana and Chhattisgarh. That is why Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that Bhupathi’s surrender is a big blow to the Naxal movement.
