Amaravati (Andhra Pradesh): Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman laid the foundation stone for the construction of headquarters for 25 banks and public sector companies in Amaravati. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, Ministers Nara Lokesh and Payyavula Keshav, Union Minister Pemmasani Chandrasekhar, chairmen, chief directors, and senior officials of the respective banks were present.
The event took place at the CRDA Project Office in the first block, next to the Capital Seed Access Road. Farmers, agricultural laborers, women, and local residents of the capital participated in the event.

Construction worth ₹1,334 crore:
The Andhra Pradesh Grameena Bank is being built at a cost of ₹256 crore and will create 1,000 jobs.
The Central Bank of India is being built at a cost of ₹40 crore. This will create 300 jobs.
AP Cooperative Bank Limited (APCOB) is building a project at a cost of ₹200 crore, creating 400 jobs.
Bank of India (BOI) is building a project at a cost of ₹40 crore, creating 200 jobs.
Canara Bank is building a project at a cost of ₹50 crore, creating 300 jobs.
State Bank of India (SBI) is building a project at a cost of ₹300 crore, creating 2,000 jobs.
Union Bank of India (UBI) is building a project at a cost of ₹50 crore, creating 160 jobs.
Bank of Baroda is building a project at a cost of ₹60 crore, creating 300 jobs.
Indian Bank is building a project at a cost of ₹40 crore, creating 105 jobs.
NABARD (National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development) is building a project at a cost of ₹90 crore, creating 160 jobs.
Punjab National Bank (PNB) is building a project at a cost of ₹15 crore, creating 150 jobs.
Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) is building it at a cost of ₹4 crore, creating 65 jobs.
IDBI Bank is building it at a cost of ₹50 crore, creating 215 jobs.
Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) is building it at a cost of ₹22 crore, creating 1,036 jobs.
New India Assurance Company Limited (NIACL) is building it at a cost of ₹93 crore, creating 150 jobs.

State Finance and Legislative Affairs Minister Payyavula Keshav said that Sitharaman’s arrival in the capital felt like bringing the country’s economy from Mumbai to Amaravati. He said that the Finance Minister is behind the double-engine government and is providing support. He thanked the central government for its support in moving the state forward, which was in the ICU.
