Chief Development Officer Abhinav Shah planted the one lakhth sapling at Nari Niketan and Bal Griha in Dehradun under the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam program by the Mountainous Plains Unity Committee. During this, the committee’s secretary Lakshmi Agarwal, environmentalist and assistant city commissioner VK Chauhan also planted a fruit tree and made people pledge to make Uttarakhand green. A large number of social workers, women of Nari Niketan and committee officials were present in the program to make women aware about the tree plantation program and green Dehradun. CDO Abhinav Shah said that on the instructions of the state government, District Magistrate Savin Bansal has made the people of Doon aware about tree plantation and saving trees. This is the reason why today people in Dehradun are becoming aware about tree plantation and environmental protection. The cooperation of people is the most important factor in increasing social awareness and the greenery of Dehradun today and in this public welfare work, the role of people like Pahadi Maidan Ekta Samiti President PK Agarwal, Secretary Lakshmi Agarwal, Mohit Raturi and nature lover VK Chauhan becomes important. Since the last Harela month, the state government has been running a campaign in Uttarakhand in the name of Ek Ped Maa. In this series, Lakshmi Agarwal, who is known as Woman and is actively working in environmental protection, organized this program today under the banner of her committee. In which she achieved her goal by planting the one lakhth sapling of her mission in Nari Niketan and Bal Sudhar Grah. Committee Secretary Lakshmi Agarwal said that in the last one month, she distributed thousands of trees to the people in rural areas, mohalla and colony daily along with her colleagues and supporters and planted saplings by doing voluntary labour herself. People were sworn in to plant trees and protect trees. Whose journey has reached a new milestone in Nari Niketan today with the planting of one lakh trees. She said that this campaign will continue even further. In other districts of the state also, the Parvatiya Maidan Ekta Samiti will do all the public welfare works including tree plantation. So that a positive message can be given to the public. Women from Dehradun and many nearby areas participated in this program and they also took a pledge to save trees along with tree plantation.
