Uttarakhand Assembly Session: CM Dhami said- We should have stopped work and discussed the disaster, the opposition wasted public money

We would have stopped the work of the House under Rule-310 and discussed the disaster. The government was also ready but the opposition had already reached here with the intention of not letting the House run. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that instead of sleeping inside the House, if the opposition colleagues had gone and slept among the disaster-affected people, their suffering would have been understood. After the proceedings of the House were adjourned indefinitely, CM Dhami addressed the media. He said that we brought the Minority Bill regarding illegal madrasas but the opposition did not care about it. The CM said that I myself had met Leader of Opposition Yashpal Arya and MLA Pritam Singh before the House started. I had requested them to run the House but they have no concern with the issues of the public. CM Dhami said that due to their personal interests, the opposition did not let the House run. So much money of the public was wasted. Neither the disaster was discussed in the House nor any other issue was allowed to happen. Convening the session in the disaster was a big challenge, which we accomplished. The government had already made all the preparations for the session but from the very first day, the opposition did not intend to run the session from here. On the very first day, the proceedings of the House were adjourned after eight. CM Dhami said that the government has been ready to discuss every issue. After my request, the opposition remained adamant on its arbitrariness. The biggest issue is that of disaster which should have been discussed but this discussion could not take place due to the uproar of the opposition. The MLAs of the ruling party also wanted to discuss it but the opposition felt that if it was discussed then they would have nothing to say. Chief Minister Dhami said that there are many development schemes in the supplementary budget, which will now be implemented on the ground. He said that where the Congress won in the Panchayat elections, no question of rigging was raised. Where there was defeat, there they are accusing of rigging. This shows that the opposition is upset with the result of the Panchayat elections coming in favor of the BJP
