Dehradun: In the city’s Race Course, a mother-daughter had a dispute with the policemen over laying the cable from the electricity pole. After the matter came to light, on one hand the Dehradun SSP has ordered an inquiry, on the other hand the State Women’s Commission has also become strict. Seeing the seriousness of the matter, the Uttarakhand State Women’s Commission has ordered an inquiry. Along with this, it has been said that the policemen will be summoned to the commission. In this case, the police have registered a case against the mother and daughter and taken them into custody.
Actually, an underground line of electricity has been laid in the Race Course area. Due to which there was a problem of electricity in a family’s house. It is being told that the neighbor (in the house where there was no light) was pulling the electric wire from the wall of the mother-daughter’s house, which the mother-daughter opposed. After which the neighbor called the police. The matter got more complicated instead of getting resolved by calling the police. The mother-daughter had an argument with the policemen and the argument reached to a scuffle. The mother and daughter had lodged a complaint with the State Women’s Commission, levelling serious allegations against the police. The State Women’s Commission has taken cognizance of the same. The police also took both of them into custody, accusing them of misbehaving and obstructing government work.
A woman living in Race Course has lodged a complaint. In which she has said that there has been no electricity in her house for the last few days, due to which the employees of the electricity department were called to get the work done. But the mother and daughter living in her neighbourhood created a hindrance in their work. After this, the Cheetah police reached the spot and talked to the mother and daughter. During this, the mother and daughter also tried to attack the police with a brick while behaving indecently. Due to which a case was registered against the mother and daughter for obstructing government work and assaulting the police. Also, both of them have been taken into custody from the spot.

After receiving a complaint in the matter, the State Women’s Commission President Kusum Kandwal took information about the matter over the phone from the police station in-charge of Nehru Colony. In which the SHO told that the mother and daughter themselves misbehaved and assaulted the policemen who reached the spot. After this, the State Women Commission Chairperson talked to SP City and Senior Superintendent of Police Ajay Singh on phone and instructed them to take serious action in the case.
Women Commission Chairperson Kusum Kandwal said that she has called both the parties to the commission on Monday. She also told that the State Women Commission team will also conduct a serious and impartial investigation of this matter. Because this is a very condemnable incident, strict action will be taken against whoever is wrong. She said that the law is for the protection of the society and if anyone has misused the law or violated the rules of the law, then strict action will be taken against him as well. At the same time, the video of the case is going viral on social media. The incident is said to be of August 13.
