On the fifth day of the Dharali disaster, 480 more people trapped at various places have been evacuated. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has announced immediate assistance. GPR radar has been brought from Hyderabad to further strengthen the search operation. This will make it easier to find people buried under the debris. A three-member committee has been formed for rehabilitation and livelihood strengthening.
Search for lives
49 others are being searched. In the affected areas, the Army, ITBP, NDRF, SDRF and the district administration are searching for people buried under the debris with the help of drones and other state-of-the-art equipment. The help of dog squad is also being taken.
Objectionable post on Dharali, case filed against four
Uttarakhand Police has registered a case against four people at Dehradun Kotwali police station for objectionable posts related to the Dharali disaster on social media. Sub-Inspector Vicky Tamta said that one of the accused had shared pictures of the flood in his post and wrote, “Aafat in Dharali.. Kudrat ka Bulldozer”. Reacting to this, another accused had written, stop demolishing mosques, tombs and madrasas. Another wrote, this is the same place where the houses of Muslims are demolished.
After returning from Uttarkashi on Saturday, Chief Minister Dhami has made this announcement to provide immediate relief to the disaster-affected in disaster-hit Dharali, Saanji, Bankura. The CM said, many houses have been completely damaged in Dharali in Uttarkashi district, Saanji and Bankura village in Pauri district. Immediate assistance of Rs 5 lakh will be given for the rehabilitation of the affected. Apart from this, assistance of Rs 5 lakh will also be given to the families of those who died in the disaster. This will provide financial support to the affected families in this difficult time.
The committee will submit a report on the rehabilitation package in a week
On the announcement of the Chief Minister, the government has constituted a committee under the chairmanship of Secretary Revenue Dr. Surendra Narayan. UCADA Chief Executive Officer Ashish Kumar Chauhan, Additional Secretary Finance Himanshu Khurana were made members of the committee. Along with preparing a package for rehabilitation of the affected, the committee will submit its report to the government within a week for selection of land for the displaced and setting standards for rebuilding buildings, shops and hotels and strengthening permanent livelihood.
Darkness cleared… Power supply restored in Dharali
On the fifth day of the disaster, the darkness of Harshil and Dharali was cleared. UPCL worked on a war footing and supplied electricity to the disaster-affected areas in Dharali. Electricity was lit in Dharali for the first time on Saturday after the disaster.
CM’s advice, do not do politics on disaster
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has advised the opposition not to do politics on the disaster in Dharali area. Said, in this hour of crisis, we all should come forward to wipe the tears of the affected with positivity
