Luxor: A major accident was postponed on Monday amidst the Kavad Yatra of Sawan month. A truck full of kawadis who came to take Haridwar water from Muzaffarnagar district of Uttar Pradesh, was uncontrolled on the road near the Panchayati Akhara Bada Nigg in Shahpur Sheetla Kheda in Luxor. Thankfully, all the Kanwar passengers in the truck were saved safely.
As soon as the information of the incident was received, the policemen and local people present on the spot started relief work without delay. Sub Inspector Ajay Kumar, posted on Kavad duty, said that the truck was going from village Kadigaon, Kakroli (Muzaffarnagar, UP) towards Haridwar. The truck overturned on the roadside due to sudden balance deteriorating. The truck was removed from the road with the help of JCB machine. After which traffic was normalized. A person suffered a minor injury in the accident. Those who have been discharged after first aid in the local private hospital.
The major accident was averted with the readiness of the police administration and the help of the local people. There is no loss of life. All Kanwar passengers were safely sent to their destination. The Haridwar administration has made adequate security arrangements during the Kavad Yatra. The police have appealed to all the drivers to follow the traffic rules and travel carefully.
Let me tell you that even before this, the truck of Kanwar passengers of Delhi returning from Gangotri filled Ganga water and overturned uncontrollably near Songad. There, five kanwadis were injured.
The Kavad fair in Uttarakhand is now in the final stages. There are now only three days left for the Kavad fair to be completed. So far, more than 3 crore kanwadis have filled Ganga water from Haridwar. The process of reaching Kawandis continues every day. For which the police administration is in alert mode. On July 23, Shivaratri, all the kanwadis will reach their respective destinations and offer water to the Shivalis. But on the last day, they can be very challenging for the police.
