The government has decided to re-verify the institutions that came under the radar in the case of minority scholarship scam. Apart from this, during the investigation, irregularities were found in the Sanskrit College in Vasukedaar in Rudraprayag, this institute was being run by a person from a particular community.
Here, girl students from 24 Parganas of West Bengal were registered. In May, the government had ordered an investigation in 92 institutions and schools found suspicious in the analysis of the National Scholarship Portal.
In the investigation, irregularities in the scholarship of minority students were found in 17 out of 92 institutions. In this case, the government had sent the investigation report to the Ministry of Minority Affairs. Now the government has decided to re-verify the institutions that came under the radar of investigation. Special Secretary of Minority Welfare Department Dr. Parag Madhukar Dhakate says that it is being ensured that no institution has been left out due to any mistake during the investigation. A letter has been sent to the District Magistrates in this regard.
Case of registration of students from other states came to light
During the investigation of minority scholarship scam, a case related to Rudraprayag district has come to light. Here, Shri Saraswati Sanskriti Mahavidyalaya Institute was being run by a person from a special community in Vasukedaar. During the investigation in this institute, two students were from West Bengal, who were registered with the concerned institute. Special Secretary Dr. Dhakate says that the investigation has revealed the registration of students from other states including West Bengal. This institute was being run by a person named Nasruddin. Action will be taken on the basis of whatever facts come to light during the investigation in the case.
