Dehradun: Kotwali Nagar police has arrested father-son duo involved in land fraud. The accused had committed fraud by selling the land mortgaged in the bank for Rs. 1 crore 26 lakh 50 thousand on the basis of fake documents. Both the accused have been presented in the court by the police and sent to jail.
Let us tell you that Varnit Agarwal, resident of Vishnu Vihar near Enfield School Vikas Nagar, had lodged a complaint in Kotwali Nagar that he needed land to start his business. His acquaintance Vijay Singh Parmar told him that there was land in Kuan Wala area and got him to meet the land owners Amrish Kumar Oberoi, Pranav Oberoi and Shravan Oberoi. Amrish Oberoi, Pranav Oberoi and Shravan Oberoi provided him a fard of the land and told him that there was no bank loan or dispute on the land and sold the land to him for Rs. 1 crore 26 lakh 50 thousand. Also, after receiving the agreed amount from them, the land sale deed was executed in their favour and the land was registered in their name.
After the registration, when they applied for mutation of the land, they came to know that Amrish Oberoi, Pranav Oberoi and Shravan Kumar had taken a loan from Union Bank of India on the land. Also, the accused fraudulently provided them with fake fard of the land and under a well-planned conspiracy, the accused grabbed the money given to them. On the basis of the complaint of the victim, a case was registered against the three accused in the city police station. City police station in-charge Pradeep Pant has told that investigation was done in the case and on the basis of evidence found, accused Amrish Oberoi and his son Pranav Oberoi were arrested by the police and presented in the court, from where, as per the court order, both the accused were sent to jail in judicial custody.
