Almora: Mutilated body of an unknown youth was found in a stream in Kotuli village of Jageshwar. This caused a sensation in the area. Police reached the spot on receiving the information and took the body in their custody and are questioning people for identification.
The body of an unknown youth was found in suspicious circumstances at a distance of about 100 meters from the road leading to the famous Jageshwar Dham of Almora. According to the police, the body is 10 to 15 days old and the age seems to be between 30 to 40 years. At present, the body has not been identified. There is a gram panchayat Kotuli between Jageshwar temple and Artola. Some villagers of Kotuli village went to the forest to graze their animals. During this time, they saw a dead body lying near the stream. The news of which spread in the village in a moment and many villagers reached the spot. The villagers informed the police about it.
As soon as the information was received, the Jageshwar outpost police reached the spot. Also, the forensic team collected evidence from the spot. Jageshwar police station in-charge Bhagwan Giri said that the body was found in a mutilated state. Efforts are being made to identify the body. It is not possible to say anything at the moment whether it is murder or suicide, investigation will be done from every angle. The police also does not have any report of anyone missing from the area. It is believed that the body was brought from somewhere else and thrown here. The deceased has socks on his feet, but shoes and slippers were not found. The body has been kept in the mortuary for the next 72 hours. The matter is being investigated. Enquiries are being made to find out whose body it is.
