Pauri/Devprayag: The continuous rain in Uttarakhand has started affecting the life of the people. Due to landslides caused by rain in the mountainous areas of the state, motor routes are getting blocked repeatedly. At the same time, due to the cracking of the mountain, the lives of the people are also in danger. Similarly, there has been a landslide from the mountain in Devprayag of Tehri district. A horrific video of the landslide has also surfaced.
A massive landslide occurred in the Sangam city of Devprayag on Monday due to heavy rains. Due to the cracking of the hill in Pauri Bah Bazaar adjacent to the Sangam area, a large amount of debris came on the road, due to which two people were injured. At the same time, a cowshed, a house and two vehicles have been damaged due to the falling of large boulders from the hill.
In the pictures, you can clearly see that suddenly the rain of stones started from the hills. Initially small stones started coming and after that suddenly big boulders started falling. The people living on the other side captured this entire incident in their rooms. As soon as the information of the incident was received, the team of Public Works Department and Disaster Management reached the spot and started relief and rescue work. The injured have been sent to the local hospital for treatment.
At the same time, traffic was also affected due to debris accumulation on Pauri-Devprayag State Highway. To make it smooth, the work of removing debris with JCB machines is going on. The administration has appealed to tourists and local citizens to be cautious while traveling in hilly areas during monsoon. Landslides are happening continuously due to rain. Take precautions to avoid any untoward incident.
Pauri Garhwal SDM Deepak Ramchandra Seth said that as soon as the information was received, the revenue team has been sent to the spot. Whatever loss of life has happened will be assessed. Along with this, relief and rescue work is being done.
