Haridwar: Two trolley vehicles collided in the Shyampur police station area of the city late at night, causing both vehicles to overturn on the road. Due to the accident, there was a complete traffic jam on the highway. The Elephant Corridor is in progress at the place where the accident took place and the road is very narrow. Due to which the route was completely blocked after the accident and the movement of traffic came to a complete halt.
According to SP City Pankaj Girola, the road was closed after two trolley vehicles collided in Rasiyabagh late at night. The police, who reached the spot as soon as they got the information about the incident, removed both the vehicles from the highway on Wednesday morning and started the traffic. Now the traffic on the highway is smooth. SP City said that the incident took place around 2 am. Following the incident, the police diverted the traffic. Traffic on the highway is currently smooth.
Truck overturned, one killed: On the other hand, a truck carrying langar goods from Punjab to Chamoli on the Rishikesh Badrinath highway overturned on the road near Srinagar Dungripanth. One person died in the accident. It is being reported that the truck PB23 F 0931 LPT, which was going from Gurdaspur (Punjab) towards Govindghat Chamoli with langar, hit the wall built above the road near Kaligarh bridge, Dungripanth at around 6 am and overturned.
According to preliminary information, the driver reported a brake failure. In this accident, Jogendra Singh, son of Punjab Ram, a resident of Gurdaspur, Punjab, aged 55, died on the spot. It is being reported that there was also a group with the truck, who have been informed about the accident. The family members of the deceased have been informed. Panchayatnama and post-mortem are being conducted by the police.
