Yamunotri Dham Landslide: On Monday, 6 people, including two innocent people, were trapped in the debris due to a landslide from a hill near Naikanchi on the Yamunotri footpath. Two people were killed in the accident. Meanwhile, the search for the two missing persons is underway.
Joy Sharma, a resident of New Delhi, sat at the site of the Yamunotri footpath waiting for his daughter to meet her throughout the day. During this time, he kept pleading with the DM and the MLA to find his daughter buried in the rubble soon. On the other hand, his wife and four-year-old son are reaching Haridwar for the funeral of the father and daughter who died in the accident.
Bhavika Sharma, an 11-year-old resident of New Delhi, was also buried in the debris and boulder in a landslide accident near Naukanchi on the Yamunotri footpath on Monday. She was returning after visiting Yamunotri Dham with her father and mother.
His father told the DM, SP and MLA that the whole family was returning from the dham with laughter. His daughter Bhavika was walking in front of him when such a flood broke from the mountain that his innocent daughter disappeared among the rubble and boulders in front of his eyes. Joy Sharma sat at the scene all day with tears in his eyes, hoping that maybe his daughter would be found. At the same time, he kept telling the authorities on the spot again and again that his daughter fell into the ditch with debris and boulders from this place. At the same time, Harishankar and the family members of the deceased in the incident said that both the father and daughter had left for the yatra with them on June 20. He was not accompanied by his wife and son. After visiting Yamunotri Dham, he went ahead near the Bhairo temple. By the time their companions arrived there, it was discovered that they had both fallen into the ditch with debris and boulder. On Tuesday, after the identification of the two, their companions took the bodies to Haridwar for their last rites.
