Kotdwar:-Havildar Vijay Singh Gusain in seven Garhwal rifles died in an accident during training in Bhopal. When the news reached the village, the family members panicked. He is survived by his mother, wife and two children. He will be cremated at Koteshwar Ghat on Wednesday.
Vijay Singh Gusain (37), a resident of Kandari village in Gaja tehsil, was admitted to the Garhwal Rifle in 2009. These days he was posted in Bhopal, MP. During training the other day, an iron dummy bomb fell on his head. As a result, he was seriously injured.
He died during treatment at the Army hospital. His brother-in-law Jitendra Sajwan said that Vijay has left behind his mother Kamli Devi, wife Pooja and two small children. Currently, his wife and children live in Garhi Cantt of Dehradun and his mother in the village. A month ago, Vijay went on duty from leave.
District Sainik Welfare Officer Colonel (S:N) Chandra Bahadur Pun said that Vijay Singh was serving as 7 Garhwal Rifle Havildar. His mortal remains were airlifted to Delhi. From there, Kandari village is being brought. He will be given a final farewell at Koteshwar Ghat on Wednesday with military honours.
