Dehradun:-A major accident near Doiwala was averted on Tuesday when a dumper loaded with mining material coming from Dehradun towards Doiwala suddenly went out of control. As soon as the dumper reached a short distance from the Manimai temple, its brakes failed. Sensing the seriousness of the situation, the driver showed wisdom by hitting the stone barricades built before it, instead of driving the dumper directly into a lane at the toll plaza.
With this quick decision of the driver, a major accident was averted and other people present at the scene escaped unharmed. The dumper stopped there after the collision. On getting information about the incident, police reached the spot and took stock of the situation.
The police took immediate action and the dumper was removed and the traffic system was normalized. No one was injured in the incident, which brought a sigh of relief to the locals. Due to the driver’s knowledge, the lives of the passengers present at the toll plaza could be saved.
