Haridwar. A woman from Pati police station area has accused her sister’s brother-in-law of taking her to a guest house, raping her and threatening to kill her. The police have registered a case on the orders of the court. Investigation in the case has been started.
According to the police, in the petition filed in the court, the woman said that on April 4, her brother-in-law’s younger brother, a resident of Bhagwanpur, took her with him on the pretext of her poor health. Alleged that he did not take her home but took her to a guest house in Kalier, where a friend of hers was already present. He said that he raped her in the guest house and threatened to kill her if she told anyone.
After the incident, her sister’s in-laws took her to Bhagwanpur, where her brother-in-law, despite hearing the victim’s distress, left her near the village government school at around 12:40 pm and told her not to tell anyone about the incident. He alleged that on April 5, he filed a complaint at the Ferrupur police station, where the post in-charge called the accused and after interrogation, left him saying that the incident did not fall under his jurisdiction. After this, a complaint was also filed with the police station Kalier and the SSP office. After no action was taken, the court door was knocked. Police station head Manoj Nautiyal said that a case was registered on the court’s order. The case is being investigated.
