In UPCL, the outstanding bills will now be audited every three months. The corporation has nominated nodal officers and co-nodals for the audit to strengthen the campaign of dues recovery under the rules of the Regulatory Commission. The progress report of block-wise recovery has to be sent to the Director Operations every 15 days.
According to the order issued by UPCL Managing Director Anil Kumar, the meeting of the committee of directors brought to light the difference in the commercial booklet, the billing system, the articles. At the same time, the committee also took cognizance of the pending electricity bills for a long period. It was decided that the pending electricity block-wise pending arrears will be pre-audited. For this, the Superintendent Engineer Distribution of all Electricity Distribution Divisions has been nominated as the nodal officer, the account officer posted in the divisional office, the assistant account officer has been nominated as the co-nodal officer.
It will be the responsibility of the nodal officers to ensure the action of pre-audit of all pending electricity bills of the power distribution blocks under the division within three months. The co-nodal officers will conduct the pre-audit action with the help of accountants posted in the sections revenue.
The Executive Engineer Distribution will ensure that the required records are available for pre-audit. It will be the responsibility of the executive engineer of the block to ensure compliance with the orders and rules of the Regulatory Commission on the basis of pre-audit information. They will submit their progress report to the nodal officer. It will be the responsibility of the nodal officers to get the disposal done according to the audit agency. Also, the director will provide the report of outstanding recovery and pre-audit to the operations every 15 days.
