Dehradun:-A committee was constituted under the chairmanship of Home Secretary Shailesh Bagoli to make Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for helicopter operations in the state. The committee will submit its recommendations to the government to prepare a detailed report by August 15.
The committee, constituted on the order of Secretary Tourism Sachin Kurve, will have 10 members. Sonica, CEO of the Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority, will be the member secretary of the committee. It will have secretaries Civil Aviation Department, Secretary Disaster Management, Director General DGCA, Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau, designated officers from the Department of Aircraft Accident Investigation Department, Executive Director of Airspace Management of the Central Government, Executive Director of Airspace Traffic Management of the Central Government, one heli service operator each nominated by DGCA and Yucada and pilot member.
The committee will prepare a report for the prevention of future accidents along with analyzing the causes of helicopter accidents. Apart from this, the Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority will give suggestions to the government for human resources, equipment, administrative reforms, amendments in the SOP prepared earlier, strengthening the communication system for weather related information and strengthening the air traffic system in the state.
