Pauri:-Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has suspended three UPCL officers in the Rikhnikhal current accident in Pauri. The CM clearly said that the safety of employees is the priority of the government. The decision has been taken with a view to ensure compliance with safety standards at workplaces in the state and to prevent recurrence of such unfortunate incidents in future.
A contract lineman died after being electrocuted while working on a power line in Vaddakhal area of Rikhnikhal block on Wednesday. Taking cognisance of the complaint of MLA Mahant Dalip Singh Rawat, the Chief Minister directed for quick action. SUB-DIVISIONAL OFFICER CHANDRAMOHAN, JUNIOR ENGINEER SUBHAM KUMAR AND EXECUTIVE ENGINEER VINEET KUMAR SAXENA HAVE BEEN SUSPENDED WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT.
Chief Minister Dhami made it clear that negligence will not be tolerated under any circumstances. He directed officials to ensure availability of all necessary safety equipment at the workplace. At the time of using risky equipment, especially fire or sharp objects, the personnel concerned should have all the protective resources such as helmets, gloves, safety belts, insulated tools. He has directed strict action against all employees for negligence in the matter.
Clarification also sought from high officials of UPCL
Chief Minister Dhami has also sought clarification from top officials of UPCL in this regard. He said it should be clarified how many safety equipment the department currently has. Are these devices effectively reaching employees working in the field?
All officers and employees working in the departments discharge their duties and responsibilities. Take quick decisions and action keeping public interest paramount. If any kind of negligence comes to the notice, strict action will be taken against the concerned officer and employee. – Pushkar Singh Dhami, Chief Minister
