Dehradun: With the pledge to dedicate body, mind and life to the country, 419 gentleman cadets from the Indian Military Academy (IMA) on Saturday became part of the Indian Army. Along with this, 32 cadets from nine friendly countries also passed out. Sri Lanka’s Army Chief Lieutenant General BKGM Lasantha Rodrigo attended the grand passing out parade as a reviewing officer and took the parade salute. The parade began with a markers call at 6:38 a.m. on Saturday. After this, the company’s sergeant majors took their places on the drill square. At 6:42 a.m. with an advance call, the cadets reached the parade ground.
The Sri Lankan army chief inspected the parade and encouraged the cadets. During this time, the cadets who performed excellently were also honoured.
