To discuss the security arrangements and fire safety norms at various event venues in the district during the upcoming New Year and New Year’s Eve celebrations, a meeting was organized today, December 27, 2025, by the Senior Superintendent of Police, Dehradun, with all hotel owners/operators/organizers of the district at the auditorium of the Police Office, Dehradun. During the meeting, the Senior Superintendent of Police, Dehradun, strictly instructed all establishment owners to make necessary arrangements in advance for the events to be held at their respective establishments and to ensure that security standards are met on time at the event venues. They were also instructed to immediately inform the police in case of any dispute arising during the proposed events, to ensure proper parking arrangements for vehicles coming to their establishments, and to appoint a sufficient number of security guards for security purposes. Furthermore, they were instructed to take necessary action regarding foreign nationals visiting their establishments and to ensure that this information is provided to the local intelligence unit, to keep the register updated, to completely stop illegal activities and hooliganism, to refrain from playing loud music after the stipulated time, and to keep fire safety equipment in working condition. Along with this, necessary instructions have been given regarding keeping the CCTV cameras in working order and immediately informing the police about any suspicious activity in the area. In addition, everyone has been instructed to ensure that their staff treat tourists with courtesy and respect.
The Dehradun Police appeal to all citizens to welcome the New Year with full joy and enthusiasm, but to refrain from driving under the influence of alcohol and creating disturbances in public places. No one who violates the rules will be spared.
