Congress leader Harak Singh Rawat visited Gurudwara Ponta Sahib to atone for his unkind words. He apologized to the Guru Granth Sahib for his unintentional words and, expressing remorse, performed the Juta Seva (sweeping service) and served in the Langar kitchen. He publicly apologized by offering prayers and offering Prasad at the feet of Guru Sahib.
During a recent protest by lawyers in the court premises, former Cabinet Minister Harak Singh Rawat’s words against a Sikh lawyer hurt the Sikh community. He also apologized to the lawyer.
He also visited the Bar Council office.
When some other lawyers present at the event expressed displeasure, Harak Singh Rawat personally visited the Bar Council office. He spoke with all the lawyers there, shared his feelings, and clearly stated his immense respect for the Sikh community. He stated that the Sikh community has always served Uttarakhand and the country in the most difficult times, winning the hearts of the world with its dedication.
It was never his intention to use derogatory words against any community, especially the Sikh community. He stated that if his words have hurt any individual, advocate, or community member, he sincerely apologizes.
