Most districts in Uttarakhand did not receive any rain in November this year. This resulted in a dry, cold weather that plagued residents from the plains to the mountains. Rainfall is currently not expected in the coming days.
Regarding the data, the state typically receives 5.9 mm of rainfall in November. Only Chamoli, Pithoragarh, Rudraprayag, and Uttarkashi received light rain in the early days of the month. Rainfall in other districts remained zero.
Meteorologists say that this year’s rainfall was due to climate change and changing weather patterns. Based on 10-year data, there was no rainfall in November in 2021 and 2016, before 2024. This is why temperatures are rising above normal in both the plains and the mountainous regions.
Regarding Friday’s temperatures, the maximum daytime temperature in Doon was recorded at 27.6 degrees Celsius, four degrees above normal. However, the nighttime temperature dropped by one degree below normal, at 8.7 degrees Celsius. Similar conditions prevailed in other areas of the state. In the coming days, the weather will remain dry throughout the state until December 4th. Frost in the mountains and light fog in the plains are making mornings and evenings feel cold.
